Anvaya

न आशा अस्तिna āśā asti
There is no hope
अमृतत्वस्यamṛtatvasya
of immortality
वित्तेनvittena
by wealth
इति एवiti eva
that alone
हि श्रुतिःhi śrutiḥ
because the scripture
कर्मणः अहेतुत्वम्karmaṇaḥ ahetutvam
karma not being the means
मुक्तेःmukteḥ
for liberation
स्फुटं ब्रवीति यतःsphuṭaṃ bravīti yataḥ
because scripture clearly says so

Translation

It is because the scriptures clearly proclaim that there is no hope of immortality by material wealth and that karma is not the means for liberation.

Annotation

Immortality refers to the state of breaking away from the cycle of birth and death. It is only by Self–realisation that the seeker breaks away from this cycle. Karma invariably gives its fruit and a person has to take another birth to reap such fruit and thus karma cannot lead to breaking away from the cycle of birth and death.
