Shloka

अज्ञानसर्पदष्टस्य ब्रह्मज्ञानौषधं विना ।किमु वेदैश्च शास्त्रैश्च किमु मन्त्रैः किमौषधैः ॥ ६३ ॥

ajñānasarpadaṣṭasya brahmajñānauṣadhaṃ vinā ;kimu vedaiśca śāstraiśca kimu mantraiḥ kimauṣadhaiḥ . 63 .

Anvaya

अज्ञान–सर्प–दष्टस्यajñāna–sarpa–daṣṭasya
For a person bitten by the serpent called ignorance
ब्रह्म–ज्ञान–औषधम् विनाbrahma–jñāna–auṣadham vinā
except the medicine of the knowledge of Brahman
किमु वेदैः चkimu vedaiḥ ca
of what use are Vedas
शास्त्रैः चśāstraiḥ ca
and also of scriptures
किमु मन्त्रैःkimu mantraiḥ
of what use are mantra–s
किम्–औषधैःkim–auṣadhaiḥ
of what use are medicines?

Translation

Excepting the medicine of the knowledge of Brahman, what is the use of Vedas, of scriptures of mantra–s or of medicines, to a person bitten by the serpent of ignorance?
