Translation

Thus having attained oneness with the One after the fall of the body, staying as pure homogenous existence and becoming Brahman Itself, this sage does not return to another birth.

Annotation

1) Brahman is called kevala, One alone, and such status is called kaivalyam. 2) Realisation while being alive is known as jīvan–mukti and such a person after the fall of the body is said to attain videha–kaivalyam, oneness with Brahman. The subtle body transmigrates in the case of unrealised persons. It merges with the five elements (from which the sense organs and mind have evolved) in the case of a realised person.
