Translation
The real nature of an object is known by oneself through the eye of clear knowledge but not (if seen) by another scholar. The true nature of moon is to be known through one’s own eye. Can it be known if seen by others?
Annotation
‘The eye of clear knowledge’ – refers to a clear understanding arising from three tier process of hearing the Upanishads from a guru (śravaṇam), logical deliberation (mananam) and continuous internalisation (nididhyāsanam) (Jagadguru).
