Shloka

यत्र क्वापि विशीर्णं पर्णमिव तरोर्वपुः पतनात् ।ब्रह्मीभूतस्य यतेः प्रागेव हि तच्चिदग्निना दग्धम् ॥ ५५७ ॥

yatra kvāpi viśīrṇaṃ parṇamiva tarorvapuḥ patanāt ;brahmībhūtasya yateḥ prāgeva hi taccidagninā dagdham . 557 .

शैलूषःśailūṣaḥ

वेष–सद्भाव–अभावयोः चveṣa–sadbhāva–abhāvayoḥ ca
whether in the costume (of a woman) or otherwise
पुमान्pumān
is a male

ब्रह्मवित्–श्रेष्ठःbrahmavit–śreṣṭhaḥ
the eminent among the realised

Translation

A realised person is one who has become Brahman itself. Because, his body, even before its fall, is burnt by the fire of knowledge, like the withered leaf of a tree fallen somewhere.
