Shloka

शैलूषो वेषसद्भावाभावयोश्च यथा पुमान् ।तथैव ब्रह्मविच्छ्रेष्ठः सदा ब्रह्मैव नापरः ॥ ५५६ ॥

śailūṣo veṣasadbhāvābhāvayośca yathā pumān ;tathaiva brahmavicchreṣṭhaḥ sadā brahmaiva nāparaḥ . 556 .

Anvaya

ब्रह्मवित्–तमःbrahmavit–tamaḥ
The eminent among the realised ones
जीवन् एवjīvan eva
while being alive
सदा मुक्तःsadā muktaḥ
always freed (from all bondages)
कृतार्थःkṛtārthaḥ
having attained his goal
उपाधि–नाशात्upādhi–nāśāt
after the cessation of the delimiting adjunct (the body)
ब्रह्म एव सन्brahma eva san
already being Brahman
ब्रह्म अप्येतिbrahma apyeti
attains Brahman
निर्–द्वयम्nir–dvayam
the non–dual

Translation

An actor, whether in the costume of a woman or otherwise, remains a male. Likewise, the eminent among the realised is always Brahman and not different.
