Shloka

कस्तां परानन्दरसानुभूति -
मुत्सृज्य शून्येषु रमेत विद्वान् ।
चन्द्रे महाह्लादिनि दीप्यमाने
चित्रेन्दुमालोकयितुं क इच्छेत् ॥ ५२३ ॥

kastāṃ parānandarasānubhūti -
mutsṛjya śūnyeṣu rameta vidvān ;
candre mahāhlādini dīpyamāne
citrendumālokayituṃ ka icchet . 523 .

जगत्jagat
The universe
ब्रह्म–प्रत्यय–सन्ततिःbrahma–pratyaya–santatiḥ
a stream of Brahman consciousness
अतःataḥ
Hence
सत् ब्रह्मsat brahma
the Brahman which is the only reality
एवeva
alone
सर्वतःsarvataḥ
all–around
पश्यpaśya
(you) see
अध्यात्म–दृशाadhyātma–dṛśā
with an introspecting eye
प्रशान्त–मनसाpraśānta–manasā
with a mind which has attained peace (devoid of dualities)
सर्वासु अवस्थासु अपिsarvāsu avasthāsu api
at all times
रूपात् अन्यत्rūpāt anyat
Apart from form
अभितःabhitaḥ
all–around
किम् विद्यतेkim vidyate
what is there
अवेक्षितुंavekṣituṃ
to see
चक्षुष्मतांcakṣuṣmatāṃ
for a person with wise vision?
ब्रह्म–विदःbrahma–vidaḥ
for the knower of Brahman
सतःsataḥ
apart from the one reality
किम् अपरंkim aparaṃ
what else
विहार–आस्पदम्vihāra–āspadam
place to wander

Translation

Which wise person would take delight in empty things, rejecting the experience of the nectar of Supreme Bliss? Who would desire to watch the moon in a painting, while the moon is shining bright giving great delight?
