एषःeṣaḥ
This
जड–आत्मकःjaḍa–ātmakaḥ
the insentient (body)
लुठतुluṭhatu
let it roll
जले वा अपिjale vā api
either in water
स्थले वा अपिsthale vā api
or on the ground
अहंahaṃ
I
न विलिप्येna vilipye
am not affected
तद्–धर्मैःtad–dharmaiḥ
by its properties
यथाyathā
just as
नभःnabhaḥ
the space
घट–धर्मैःghaṭa–dharmaiḥ
(is not affected) by the properties of the pot
Translation
Notions such as doership, enjoyment, villainy, arrogance, dullness, bondage, freedom etc., are mere visualisations in the intellect and they do not really exist in the Self, which is the Supreme Brahman, the one and non–dual.
