Translation

Let this insentient body roll either in water or on the ground; I am not affected by what happens to it, just like the space is not affected by the changes to the pot.

Annotation

‘Properties of the pot’ – refers to the name, shape, color etc., and to its impermanent nature. The space delimited by the pot is in no way affected by such properties. Similarly, the properties of the body–mind–complex are joy, sorrow, delusion etc., which do not affect the Self (Jagadguru).
