Translation

I am beyond time, like space. I, like Sun, am distinct from the illumined. I, like a mountain, am eternal and unchanging. I, like an ocean, am boundless.

Annotation

This is an expression of realisation that Atman is all–pervading and eternal. ‘Distinct from the illumined’ – refers to the idea that Atman is self–luminous, svayaṃ–jyoti, which is the knower of all (Jagadguru).
