Translation

The karma (causative for the present birth) which has commenced prior to the dawn of knowledge does not disappear by knowledge without giving its fruit. It goes on like an arrow released from the bow aiming at a target.

Annotation

This is by way of an explanation on the Brahma Sutra (4–1–१९) (Jagadguru). It is only the accumulated karma of previous births (sañcitam) which gets destroyed but not the prārabdham.
