विद्वन्vidvan

Learned disciple

मा भैष्टmā bhaiṣṭa

be not afraid

तवtava

to you

नास्ति अपायःnāsti apāyaḥ

no loss

संसार–सिन्धोः तरणेsaṃsāra–sindhoḥ taraṇe

for crossing over the ocean of transmigration

अस्ति उपायःasti upāyaḥ

there is a means

येन एवyena eva

by which alone

यतयः याताःyatayaḥ yātāḥ

the sages (of the past) have gone (reached)

अस्य परांasya parāṃ

the other shore of this (ocean)

तम् एव मार्गंtam eva mārgaṃ

the same path

तव निर्दिशामिtava nirdiśāmi
