Translation
To the seeker who has thus approached him – the seeker who follows instructions meticulously, who has attained tranquility of mind and who is equipped with self–control – the teacher has to necessarily impart the teaching on Supreme Reality with kindness.
Annotation
‘Meticulously following instructions’ – means that he achieves all pre–requisites for attainment of knowledge. ‘A person who has not withdrawn from unrighteous conduct, the one who has not achieved tranquility of mind cannot realise Brahman by mere intellect’ (Katha.Up.1–2–24). ‘Necessarily impart’ – means that the teacher has to impart the knowledge of Brahman in order to preserve it for the welfare of mankind (Jagadguru).
