There is knowledge of external world for the person who is in the stage of internalisation. The scripture too says that the karma causative for the present body is seen in the case of such person.
Annotation
The expression ‘For a person in the stage of internalisation’ implies that he is not a fully realised person and hence the experience of joy and sorrow continues. This stage is savikalpa–samādhi and not the nirvikalpaka–samādhi. Mananam is hundred times more valuable than śravaṇam and nididhyāsanam is hundred thousand times valuable than mananam. Nirvikalpakam is infinitely more valuable than nididhyāsanam. Superimposition has not totally disappeared in the stage of nididhyāsanam and hence the experience of joy and sorrow exist (Jagadguru).
