Shloka

अतीताननुसन्धानं भविष्यदविचारणम् ।औदासीन्यमपि प्राप्ते जीवन्मुक्तस्य लक्षणम् ॥ ४३३ ॥

atītānanusandhānaṃ bhaviṣyadavicāraṇam ;audāsīnyamapi prāpte jīvanmuktasya lakṣaṇam . 433 .

Anvaya

अतीत–अननुसन्धानंatīta–ananusandhānaṃ
Not ruminating on the past
भविष्यद्–अविचारणम्bhaviṣyad–avicāraṇam
not speculating on the future
प्राप्ते अपिprāpte api
even in something which has befallen
औदासीन्यंaudāsīnyaṃ
disinterestedness
लक्षणंlakṣaṇaṃ
(is the) characteristic of
जीवन्–मुक्तस्यjīvan–muktasya
of the person who is liberated while being alive

Translation

Not ruminating on the past, not speculating on the future and disinterestedness on something which has befallen are the characteristics of the person who is liberated while being alive.
