कथं तरेयं भवसिन्धुमेतं का वा गतिर्मे कतमोऽस्त्युपायः । जाने न किञ्चित्कृपयाव मां प्रभो संसारदुःखक्षतिमातनुष्व ॥ ४२ ॥
kathaṃ tareyaṃ bhavasindhumetaṃ kā vā gatirme katamo’styupāyaḥ ; jāne na kiñcitkṛpayāva māṃ prabho saṃsāraduḥkhakṣatimātanuṣva . 42 .

How can I cross (tide over)
भव–सिन्धुम् एतंbhava–sindhum etaṃ
this ocean of existence
का वा गतिः मेkā vā gatiḥ me
what is the path for me
कतमः अस्ति उपायःkatamaḥ asti upāyaḥ
what is the strategy
जाने न किंचित्jāne na kiṃcit
I know nothing
कृपयाkṛpayā
kindly
अव मांava māṃ
save me
प्रभोprabho
revered sir
आतनुष्वātanuṣva
bring about
संसार–दुःख–क्षतिम्saṃsāra–duḥkha–kṣatim
an end to the sorrow of existence
Translation
How can I cross over this ocean of existence? What is the path for me and what is the strategy? I know nothing. Revered sir! Kindly save me. Bring about an end to the sorrow of existence.
