Shloka

प्रकृतिविकृतिशून्यं भावनातीतभावं
समरसमसमानं मानसम्बन्धदूरम् ।
निगमवचनसिद्धं नित्यमस्मत्प्रसिद्धं
हृदि कलयति विद्वान्ब्रह्म पूर्णं समाधौ ॥ ४१० ॥

prakṛtivikṛtiśūnyaṃ bhāvanātītabhāvaṃ
samarasamasamānaṃ mānasambandhadūram ;
nigamavacanasiddhaṃ nityamasmatprasiddhaṃ
hṛdi kalayati vidvānbrahma pūrṇaṃ samādhau . 410 .

Translation

The wise person, during samādhi, realises in his heart (the mind) the infinite Brahman which is beyond cause–effect relationship, beyond conceptualisation, homogenous, unparalleled, beyond the pramāṇa–s, known by the scriptural statements eternal and universally known as ‘I’.

Annotation

‘Known as ‘I’’ – does not refer to the ego. It refers to the awareness of the existence of the Self which cannot be negated. No one can negate his own existence.
