शान्ता महान्तो निवसन्ति सन्तो
वसन्तवल्लोकहितं चरन्तः ।
तीर्णाः स्वयं भीमभवार्णवं जना -
नहेतुनान्यानपि तारयन्तः ॥ ३९ ॥

śāntā mahānto nivasanti santo
vasantavallokahitaṃ carantaḥ ;
tīrṇāḥ svayaṃ bhīmabhavārṇavaṃ janā -
nahetunānyānapi tārayantaḥ . 39 .

भीम–भव–आर्णवंbhīma–bhava–ārṇavaṃ
the fierce ocean of birth (and death)
अहेतुनाahetunā
devoid of reason (selfish motive)
तारयन्तःtārayantaḥ
enabling (seekers) to cross over
अन्यान् जनान् अपिanyān janān api
even other people (seekers)

Translation

Saintly persons do exist, those who are established in divine peace, great men who do good to others like the spring season, those who have themselves crossed the fierce ocean of birth and devoid of any motive enable others to cross it over.
