Translation

This Atman is self–luminous and is the witness of all, shining in the intellect (ego)–sheath. Having made this Atman – which is distinct from the unreal – as your goal, experience it as your own self with an unbroken Brahman awareness.

Annotation

1) ‘Distinct from the unreal’ – because it is present in all the states such as waking, dream and deep sleep. 2) Ego, intellect etc., are insentient and hence become objects for Atman. 3) ‘Having made it your goal’ implies focusing the mind on Atman. 4) akhaṇḍa–vṛtti – means a continuous, unbroken thought process, unmixed by dissimilar thoughts (Jagadguru).
