Translation

There should not be any inadvertence at any time in the matter of abidance in Brahman. Inadvertence is death, so said the revered sage, the son of Brahma (the creator).

Annotation

The son of Brahma, the creator, is Sanath Sujata, who teaches the knowledge of Brahman to Dhritarashtra in the Mahabharata (Jagadguru). The quotation is from the Udyoga–parva (42–4). The word Brahma refers to the creator and not to Supreme Brahman.
