वासनावृद्धितः कार्यं कार्यवृद्ध्या च वासना ।वर्धते सर्वथा पुंसः संसारो न निवर्तते ॥ ३१४ ॥
vāsanāvṛddhitaḥ kāryaṃ kāryavṛddhyā ca vāsanā ;vardhate sarvathā puṃsaḥ saṃsāro na nivartate . 314 .

वासना–वृद्धितःvāsanā–vṛddhitaḥ
By nursing the latent tendencies
कार्यंkāryaṃ
the result (activity)
वर्धतेvardhate
grows
कार्य–वृद्ध्या चkārya–vṛddhyā ca
and by the growth of the effect
वासनाvāsanā
the latent tendency (grow)
संसारःsaṃsāraḥ
The transmigrating existence
न निवर्ततेna nivartate
does not cease
पुंसःpuṃsaḥ
for a person
सर्वथाsarvathā
completely
Translation
By nursing the latent tendency, activity too increases and by the increase in activity, the tendency become stronger. The cycle of transmigration does not cease for a person completely.
Annotation
Even if the ego is in the form of a tiny seed, it has the potential to grow and hinder discrimination, just as even a spark of fire can grow into a mighty conflagration when it comes in contact with dry grass (Jagadguru).
