Translation

From the realisation of oneness of Atman and Brahman (on the strength of such realisation) – arising out of sentences such as “That you are” – negate the false superimposition in your mind in order to strengthen your sense of identity with Brahman.

Annotation

‘For strengthening the notion of the Self’ – The notion of self in the body–mind–complex is very strong. It can be subdued only by a stronger sense of identity with Brahman on the strength of scriptural assertions. The import of the pre–eminent lines (mahāvākya) is not realised so long as the superimposition exists (Jagadguru).
