Translation
The Brahman which exists beyond varṇa, moral injunctions, caste, gotra; which is devoid of defects such as name, form and characteristics; that which is beyond the notions of space, time and object; That you are. Meditate thus in your mind.
Annotation
Varṇa such as Brahmin, kṣatriya (warrior) etc., moral injunctions, caste, gotra (the lineage from sages) are all properties of the gross and subtle body. The Mundaka Upanishad (1–1–6) asserts this – “That which is beyond gotra and varṇa” (Jagadguru).
