Shloka

सदिदं परमाद्वैतं स्वस्मादन्यस्य वस्तुनोऽभावात् ।न ह्यन्यदस्ति किञ्चित्सम्यक्परतत्त्वबोधसुदशायाम् ॥ २२८ ॥

sadidaṃ paramādvaitaṃ svasmādanyasya vastuno’bhāvāt ;na hyanyadasti kiñcitsamyakparatattvabodhasudaśāyām . 228 .

Anvaya

इदं सत्idaṃ sat
This is (eternal) existence
परम–अद्वैतंparama–advaitaṃ
the supreme non–dual
अभावात्abhāvāt
because of the absence of
वस्तुनःvastunaḥ
of anything
स्वस्माद् अन्यस्यsvasmād anyasya
different from itself
अन्यद्anyad
any other thing
न किञ्चित् अस्ति हिna kiñcit asti hi
does not exist
सम्यक् परमार्थ–तत्त्व–बोध–दशायाम्samyak paramārtha–tattva–bodha–daśāyām
in the state of enlightenment about the nature of the Supreme

Translation

This (Brahman) is eternal existence, the Supreme non–dual because of the absence of anything different from itself. Nothing exists beyond it in the state of enlightenment about the nature of the Supreme.

Annotation

The word ‘vastu’ implies that all other phenomenal things which are seen do not have real existence. Their existence is similar to the existence of snake on the rope (Jagadguru).
