Shloka

श्रीगुरुरुवाच -
सम्यक्पृष्टं त्वया विद्वन् सावधानेन तच्छृणु ।
प्रामाणिकी न भवति भ्रान्त्या मोहितकल्पना ॥ १९६ ॥

śrīgururuvāca -
samyakpṛṣṭaṃ tvayā vidvan sāvadhānena tacchṛṇu ;
prāmāṇikī na bhavati bhrāntyā mohitakalpanā . 196 .

Anvaya

विद्वन्vidvan
vLearned disciple!
तत् श्रृणुtat śrṛṇu
listen to it
सावधानेनsāvadhānena
attentively
भ्रान्त्या मोहित–कल्पनाbhrāntyā mohita–kalpanā
Visualisation due to delusion
प्रामाणिकी न भवतिprāmāṇikī na bhavati
cannot become truth

Anvaya

सम्यक् पृष्टं त्वयाsamyak pṛṣṭaṃ tvayā
It is well asked by you

Translation

Learned disciple! It has been well asked by you. Listen attentively. Visualisation due to deluded thinking cannot become truth.

Annotation

In reality, Atman is of the nature of pure consciousness but it has got conditioned by the limiting adjunct and perceives wrongly. Such wrong perception cannot be the truth (Jagadguru).
