Shloka

स्वयं परिच्छेदमुपेत्य बुद्धे -
स्तादात्म्यदोषेण परं मृषात्मनः ।
सर्वात्मकः सन्नपि वीक्षते स्वयं
स्वतः पृथक्त्वेन मृदो घटानिव ॥ १९२ ॥

svayaṃ paricchedamupetya buddhe -
stādātmyadoṣeṇa paraṃ mṛṣātmanaḥ ;
sarvātmakaḥ sannapi vīkṣate svayaṃ
svataḥ pṛthaktvena mṛdo ghaṭāniva . 192 .

Anvaya

स्वयंsvayaṃ
itself
परिच्छेदम् उपेत्यparicchedam upetya
having assumed delimitedness
बुद्धेः तादात्म्य–दोषेणbuddheḥ tādātmya–doṣeṇa
because of the fault of identification with the intellect
परं मृषात्मनःparaṃ mṛṣātmanaḥ
which is extremely unreal in nature
सर्वात्मकः सन् अपिsarvātmakaḥ san api
in spite of being the Self of all
वीक्षतेvīkṣate
sees
स्वतः पृथक्त्वेनsvataḥ pṛthaktvena
as different from itself
मृदः घटान् इवmṛdaḥ ghaṭān iva
like seeing the pots as different from clay

Translation

This Atman, in spite of being the Self of all, assumes delimitedness because of the fault of identification with the intellect which is extremely unreal in nature. Due to this, it sees itself as different from all. It is like seeing the pots as different from clay.

Annotation

‘The Self of all’ – means that the Atman is the material and instrumental cause for all things and hence there is nothing different from Atman (Jagadguru).
