Shloka

तन्मनःशोधनं कार्यं प्रयत्नेन मुमुक्षुणा ।विशुद्धे सति चैतस्मिन्मुक्तिः करफलायते ॥ १८३ ॥

tanmanaḥśodhanaṃ kāryaṃ prayatnena mumukṣuṇā ;viśuddhe sati caitasminmuktiḥ karaphalāyate . 183 .

Translation

Hence purification of mind has to be achieved by the seeker with great effort. Liberation would be as easily attainable as a fruit in one’s palm when the mind is rendered pure.

Annotation

Purification of mind involves removal of rajas and tamas. Purity implies that the mind is predominantly sattva in nature (Jagadguru).
