भ्राम्यतेbhrāmyate

वायुना इवvāyunā iva

Translation

Hence the wise one’s who have realised truth call this mind as nescience because by this alone the whole world is tossed about (into various actions and fruits) just as a group of clouds is tossed about by wind.

Annotation

The mind is called nescience because it is the product of nescience. Nescience cannot be the cause of transmigration without the medium of the mind. Hence the mind can rightly be called as nescience (Jagadguru).
