Translation
The transmigration of jīva is due to the presence of superimposition (perception of non–atman as Atman). Even this bondage of superimposition is created by the mind. This (mind) is the cause for the sorrow of birth, death etc., for the non–discriminating one.
Annotation
The defects of rajas and tamas are the cause for concealment and projection (verse 143) (Jagadguru).
