पञ्चेन्द्रियैः पञ्चभिरेव होतृभिः
प्रचीयमानो विषयाज्यधारया ।
जाज्वल्यमानो बहुवासनेन्धनै -
र्मनोमयोऽग्निर्दहति प्रपञ्चम् ॥ १७० ॥

pañcendriyaiḥ pañcabhireva hotṛbhiḥ
pracīyamāno viṣayājyadhārayā ;
jājvalyamāno bahuvāsanendhanai -
rmanomayo’gnirdahati prapañcam . 170 .

Anvaya

पञ्च–इन्द्रियैःpañca–indriyaiḥ
By the five sense organs
पञ्चभिः–एव होतृभिःpañcabhiḥ–eva hotṛbhiḥ
serving as five priests
विषय–आज्य–धारयाviṣaya–ājya–dhārayā
by continuous stream of oblations such as sense objects
प्रचीयमानःpracīyamānaḥ
being grown
जाज्वल्यमानःjājvalyamānaḥ
in bright flames
बहु–वासना–इन्धनैःbahu–vāsanā–indhanaiḥ
by the fuel of countless sense impressions (predispositions) in the mind
मनो–मय–अग्निःmano–maya–agniḥ
the fire dominated by mind
दहतिdahati
burns
प्रपञ्चम्prapañcam

Translation

By the five sense organs (serving) as five priests, being augmented by a continuous stream of sense objects as oblations and burning in brilliant flames by the fuel of countless predispositions of mind, this fire dominated by mind burns the world.

Annotation

The metaphor of yajña is employed for clear understanding of the continuous pouring of sense objects on the mind. The sense objects are poured in by the five sense organs. The more the fuel, the more are the flames. This burning of mind is rendering the seekers unfit for liberation (Jagadguru).
