Shloka

देहेन्द्रियादावसति भ्रमोदितां
विद्वानहन्तां न जहाति यावत् ।
तावन्न तस्यास्ति विमुक्तिवार्ता -
प्यस्त्वेष वेदान्तनयान्तदर्शी ॥ १६४ ॥

dehendriyādāvasati bhramoditāṃ
vidvānahantāṃ na jahāti yāvat ;
tāvanna tasyāsti vimuktivārtā -
pyastveṣa vedāntanayāntadarśī . 164 .

Anvaya

देह–इन्द्रियादौ असतिdeha–indriyādau asati
In the unreal body and senses
भ्रमोदितां अहंतांbhramoditāṃ ahaṃtāṃ
the notion of self arisen due to delusion
विद्वान्vidvān
a person of textual knowledge
न जहाति यावत्na jahāti yāvat
as long as he does not give up
तावत्tāvat
till then
विमुक्ति–वार्ता अपिvimukti–vārtā api
even the mere mention of liberation
न तस्य अस्तिna tasya asti
does not exist for him
अस्तु एषastu eṣa
let him be
वेदान्त–नयान्त–दर्शीvedānta–nayānta–darśī
a scholar who has studied the science of Vedanta till end

Translation

So long as the person of textual knowledge does not give up the notion of Self – arisen due to delusion – in the unreal body and senses, till then, even the mention of liberation does not exist for him, even if he were a scholar who has studied the science of Vedanta up to the end.

Annotation

“A scholar who has studied the science of Vedanta till end” refers to a person of textual knowledge who has not got rid of the notion of ego in the body by constant internalisation of the textual knowledge (Jagadguru).
