Shloka

अतस्तौ मायया कॢप्तौ बन्धमोक्षौ न चात्मनि
निष्कले निष्क्रिये शान्ते निरवद्ये निरञ्जने ।
अद्वितीये परे तत्त्वे व्योमवत्कल्पना कुतः ॥ ५७४ ॥

atastau māyayā kḷptau bandhamokṣau na cātmani
niṣkale niṣkriye śānte niravadye nirañjane ;
advitīye pare tattve vyomavatkalpanā kutaḥ . 574 .

Anvaya

यः प्रत्ययःyaḥ pratyayaḥ
The understanding
अस्ति इतिasti iti
that (bondage) it exists
ca
and
यः च न अस्ति इतिyaḥ ca na asti iti
and that it does not exist
वस्तुनिvastuni
in Brahman
एतौetau
these two (types of understanding)
गुणौguṇau
the properties of
बुद्धेः एवbuddheḥ eva
of intellect only
न तुna tu
and not of
नित्यस्य वस्तुनःnityasya vastunaḥ
the eternal reality (Brahman)

Translation

Hence (as bondage and liberation are merely the mental modifications, buddhi–vṛtti–s as told above) these two are merely creations of māyā, but in reality they do not exist in the Atman. Where is the scope for such visualisation in the part–less, action–less, tranquil, blame–less, non–dual Supreme Reality which is devoid of attachment and which is like–space?
