the indestructible nature
आत्मनःātmanaḥ
of the Atman
विकारिषुvikāriṣu
while all other changing things
विनश्यत्सुvinaśyatsu

Translation

Just as (the modifications of earth) things such as stone, tree, grass, grain, cot, clothes etc., remain as earth only after getting burnt, similarly, all phenomenal things such as the body, sense organs, vital airs, mind etc., remain as Brahman, when burnt by the fire of knowledge.

Annotation

Vedanta examines the cause–effect relationship of things in the universe. All the effects (kāryam), on analysis, remain as the cause (kāraṇam). The pot does not have an independent existence apart from the clay. Similarly all phenomenal things, which are appearances in Brahman, are realised as not different from Brahman.
