Shloka

अखण्डानन्दमात्मानं विज्ञाय स्वस्वरूपतः ।किमिच्छन्कस्य वा हेतोर्देहं पुष्णाति तत्त्ववित् ॥ ४१८ ॥

akhaṇḍānandamātmānaṃ vijñāya svasvarūpataḥ ;kimicchankasya vā hetordehaṃ puṣṇāti tattvavit . 418 .

विज्ञायvijñāya

आत्मानंātmānaṃ
the Self
अखण्ड–आनन्दम्akhaṇḍa–ānandam
as the homogenous (infinite) bliss
स्व–स्व–रूपतःsva–sva–rūpataḥ
through his own self
तत्त्ववित्tattvavit
the realised one
किम् इच्छन्kim icchan
with what desire
कस्य वा हेतोःkasya vā hetoḥ
for what reason
देहं पुष्णातिdehaṃ puṣṇāti
nourishes the body?

Translation

Having realised the Self, the infinite bliss through his own self, with what desire and for what reason will the realised person nourish his body?

Annotation

This is a reference to the statement of (Br.Up. 4–4–12). A person, who has realised that his nature is infinite, will have no desire and hence will not languish with the body to fulfill such desires (Jagadguru).
