Shloka

समूलमेतत्परिदह्य वह्नौ
सदात्मनि ब्रह्मणि निर्विकल्पे ।
ततः स्वयं नित्यविशुद्धबोधा -
नन्दात्मना तिष्ठति विद्वरिष्ठः ॥ ४१६ ॥

samūlametatparidahya vahnau
sadātmani brahmaṇi nirvikalpe ;
tataḥ svayaṃ nityaviśuddhabodhā -
nandātmanā tiṣṭhati vidvariṣṭhaḥ . 416 .

as of the nature of Eternal, Pure Consciousness and Bliss

Translation

Having totally burnt the body, along with its root (nescience), in the fire of the eternal Self – the Brahman, the undifferentiated – the wise person stays in the nature of Eternal, Pure Consciousness and Bliss.

Annotation

‘Having burnt the body’ – the fire of knowledge burns the karma as the Gita says. Karma is the cause for the body.
