Translation

Prior to realisation, the ego remains undistinguished from the intellect and is known as ‘this I am’, because of highly deluding ignorance. When the same ego gets completely destroyed, realisation of Self as Brahman happens without any obstacles.

Annotation

The sense of ego is caused by nescience and hence its eradication is possible (Jagadguru).
