Shloka

लोकानुवर्तनं त्यक्त्वा त्यक्त्वा देहानुवर्तनम् ।शास्त्रानुवर्तनं त्यक्त्वा स्वाध्यासापनयं कुरु ॥ २७१ ॥

lokānuvartanaṃ tyaktvā tyaktvā dehānuvartanam ;śāstrānuvartanaṃ tyaktvā svādhyāsāpanayaṃ kuru . 271 .

Anvaya

त्यक्त्वाtyaktvā
having given up
लोक–अनुवर्तनंloka–anuvartanaṃ
conducting yourself as per the expectations of others
देह–अनुवर्तनम्deha–anuvartanam
yielding to the dictates of the body

engaging yourself in the dialectics of multiple texts

elimination of the superimposition of non–self on the Self

Translation

Having given up attention on conformity with social norms, having given up yielding to the dictates of the body and having given up indulgence in dialectics, eliminate the superimposition of non–self on the Self.

Annotation

The word śāstra in the present context refers to the texts relating to karma and not to scriptures (Upanishads) (Jagadguru).
