Shloka

अथात आदेश इति श्रुतिः स्वयं
निषेधति ब्रह्मणि कल्पितं द्वयम् ।
श्रुतिप्रमाणानुगृहीतयुक्त्या
तयोर्निरासः करणीय एवम् ॥ २४७ ॥

athāta ādeśa iti śrutiḥ svayaṃ
niṣedhati brahmaṇi kalpitaṃ dvayam ;
śrutipramāṇānugṛhītayuktyā
tayornirāsaḥ karaṇīya evam . 247 .

negation has to be done thus

Translation

The scripture, while saying – ‘thereafter, therefore etc’, itself negates any duality visualised in Brahman. Hence by the reasoning bestowed by the scriptural authority, negation of limiting adjuncts has to be done thus.

Annotation

The scriptural statement – ‘thereafter, therefore, not this, not this’ (Br.Up.2–3–6) negates all things which can be objectified or known by the knower. Nothing exists apart from the substratum, which is the knower. Hence the limiting adjuncts such as the five sheaths and māyā have to be negated (Jagadguru).
