Shloka

देहादिब्रह्मपर्यन्ते ह्यनित्ये भोग्यवस्तुनि ।विरज्य विषयव्राताद्दोषदृष्ट्या मुहुर्मुहुः ॥ २२ ॥

dehādibrahmaparyante hyanitye bhogyavastuni ;virajya viṣayavrātāddoṣadṛṣṭyā muhurmuhuḥ . 22 .

Anvaya

विरज्यvirajya
Having withdrawn
विषय–व्रातात्viṣaya–vrātāt
from the host of sense objects
दोष–दृष्ट्याdoṣa–dṛṣṭyā
by seeing their defects
मुहुः मुहुःmuhuḥ muhuḥ
again and again
स्व–लक्ष्येsva–lakṣye
in one’s goal
नियत–अवस्थाniyata–avasthā
to be firmly established
मनसः शमःmanasaḥ śamaḥ
the control of mind
उच्यतेucyate
is told

Translation

The state of mind focused on its goal (liberation), after having attained dispassion by repeated cognition of defects in the host of sense objects is called śama
