Shloka

सत्त्वं विशुद्धं जलवत्तथापि
ताभ्यां मिलित्वा सरणाय कल्पते ।
यत्रात्मबिम्बः प्रतिबिम्बितः स -
न्प्रकाशयत्यर्क इवाखिलं जडम् ॥ ११९ ॥

sattvaṃ viśuddhaṃ jalavattathāpi
tābhyāṃ militvā saraṇāya kalpate ;
yatrātmabimbaḥ pratibimbitaḥ sa -
nprakāśayatyarka ivākhilaṃ jaḍam . 119 .

Anvaya

सत्त्वंsattvaṃ
The sattva guṇa
विशुद्धंviśuddhaṃ
pure
जलवत्jalavat
like water
तथा अपिtathā api
even then
मिलित्वाmilitvā
having mixed
ताभ्यांtābhyāṃ
with those two
सरणाय कल्पतेsaraṇāya kalpate
becomes prone to transmigration
यत्रyatra
in which
आत्म–बिम्बःātma–bimbaḥ
the image of Atman
प्रतिबिम्बितः सन्pratibimbitaḥ san
having been reflected
प्रकाशयतिprakāśayati
illumines
अर्कः इवarkaḥ iva
like the Sun
अखिलं जडम्akhilaṃ jaḍam
the entire insentient

Translation

Even though the sattva guṇa is pure like water, it becomes prone to transmigration having mixed up with the other two (rajas and tamas). The image of Atman reflects in this (sattva) and illumines the entire insentient (world) like the Sun.
