यदज्ञानतो भाति विश्वं समस्तं
विनष्टं च सद्यो यदात्मप्रबोधे ।
मनोवागतीतं विशुद्धं विमुक्तं
परं ब्रह्म नित्यं तदेवाहमस्मि ॥४॥
yadajñānato bhāti viśvaṃ samastaṃ
vinaṣṭaṃ ca sadyo yadātmaprabodhe ;
manovāgatītaṃ viśuddhaṃ vimuktaṃ
paraṃ brahma nityaṃ tadevāhamasmi .4.

English Translation to Svarupanusandhanam
I am verily that Supreme Eternal Brahman, due to incorrect perception of whose nature the entire universe makes its appearance and by the realization of whose naturethe universe immediately disappears, which is perfectly pure, absolutely free and beyond all thought and expression.

To contemplate on the Self as different from something else necessarily implies that we have that something also in our mental background even at that time. To have a pure contemplation, we must have only the essential characteristics of the thing to be contemplated and not its relative characteristics which have reference to extraneous objects. Such intrinsic characteristics are mentioned here as Eternality, Consciousness, Bliss and unlimitedness.
