Shloka

अहं ममेति प्रथितं शरीरं
मोहास्पदं स्थूलमितीर्यते बुधैः ।
नभोनभस्वद्दहनाम्बुभूमयः सूक्ष्माणी भूतानि भवन्ति तानि ॥ ७५ ॥

ahaṃ mameti prathitaṃ śarīraṃ
mohāspadaṃ sthūlamitīryate budhaiḥ ;
nabhonabhasvaddahanāmbubhūmayaḥ sūkṣmāṇī bhūtāni bhavanti tāni . 75 .

Translation

This body, with these (seven) constituents – marrow, bone, fat, flesh, the blood, the outer skin and the inner skin – and limbs such as feet, thighs, chest, shoulders, back and head and also with minor limbs is the well known cause for the delusion of ‘I’ and ‘mine’. This is called the gross body by the wise.

Annotation

A general rule accepted by all schools of thought is that any assemblage is the work of an intelligent entity apart from the assemblage. The description in the present verse is to indicate that the body which is an assemblage of various constituents is for the use of someone outside the assemblage. The body, which is such an assemblage, is not the real Self.
